Arbor Day 2009

On January 4, 1872, J. Sterling Morton of Nebraska City, Nebraska proposed a tree-planting holiday. His idea was so popular that it has been estimated that more than one million trees were planted in Nebraska on that first Arbor Day. Slowly, the idea began to catch on in other states, and in 1970, the last friday in April was proclaimed to be National Arbor Day.

So, we at BMA would like to take this opportunity to thank all our clients and subcontractors for contributing to the planting of 36,676 trees and shrubs since the year 2000.

Construction is progressing

Thanks to some cooperating weather, and great work crews, construction of the new D.E.S. building is progressing quickly.

Good Samaritan Society Hospice construction

Construction of the new 10 bed in-patient hospice facility is scheduled to begin soon. The facility will be located on the vacant site adjacent to the Village Tower apartments on Ruth Street in Prescott. In addition to the 10 private rooms, the facility will have a fully equipped nurses station; a chapel; a living room; library; and individual patios for each resident's room to allow nature's healing for both the patient and their family. The homelike atmosphere of the facility will provide a warm, comfortable setting for those in need.

BMA is proud of the design of this facility and it's association with the Good Samaritan Society.

New D.E.S. building under construction

Thanks to all those involved with the design of this project, Prescott Building Company has broken ground and begun construction of the new Dept. of Economic Security building in Prescott Valley. When completed, the building will employ approx. 31 people whose mission is to "promote the safety, well-being, and self-sufficiency of children, adults, and families".
